Working in Poland is about more than the rate shown in an advertisement. Before choosing a vacancy, compare gross or net pay, guaranteed hours, the schedule, the agreement, accommodation, transport, and the date of the first payment. Two offers with the same hourly rate may produce different income because of the number of shifts and monthly deductions.
According to the WORKIUM catalogue for 2025–2026, around 83.4% of the platform's active vacancies were in Poland. This share was calculated using active vacancy listings in the catalogue during that period. Poland is one of WORKIUM's key destinations, but not every offer will be the best option for a particular candidate. The conditions below were checked on 25 July 2026; before booking, they should be verified again in the vacancy listing.
The WORKIUM team reviewed more than 10,000 candidate enquiries from 2025–2026: more than 80% of people considered more than salary when choosing a vacancy. Common questions concerned working hours, accommodation, schedules, and the actual workplace location, so these are the parameters compared in this article.

Frequently asked questions
The WORKIUM catalogue includes vacancies in warehouses, factories, manufacturing plants, food-processing companies, greenhouses, cleaning, and garment production. Common positions include order picker, packer, warehouse worker, production operator, automotive factory worker, and seasonal produce picker.
A job title does not show the full workload. A «warehouse worker» may pick lightweight clothing with a scanner or move boxes weighing up to 15 kg. In manufacturing, work may take place next to a conveyor, while in food production it may involve lower temperatures and mandatory hygienic clothing.
Before applying, ask for:
the maximum weight of the goods;
the temperature in the work area;
how long the employee must remain standing;
the number and length of breaks;
whether night shifts are required;
how productivity is measured.
WORKIUM includes vacancies with different conditions: for women, men, couples, and candidates without previous experience. Detailed requirements should be checked in each individual offer.
Warehouse and manufacturing work often suits people looking for stable income without lengthy training, those willing to work shifts, or those planning to gain their first experience abroad. At the same time, candidates should realistically assess the physical workload, night shifts, and accommodation costs.
If a predictable schedule is important, it is better to rule out vacancies with rotating shifts from the outset. If the priority is the maximum number of hours, check separately whether those hours are guaranteed rather than available only during seasonal peaks.
For candidates, the conditions of a specific vacancy — rate, hours, accommodation, and costs — matter more than average salaries in Poland. Among WORKIUM offers checked on 25 July 2026 was a Zara / ID Logistics clothing warehouse vacancy paying 25.36–32 PLN net per hour, with an estimated range of 5,280–9,300 PLN net per month. The WORKIUM bonus was 600 PLN after 14 completed working days.
Another offer current on that date was warehouse work for Zalando / Ceva: 25.36–31.40 PLN net per hour, 4,564–8,394 PLN net per month, with a 200 PLN bonus after 30 working days. The minimum work period was 2.5 months; the description provided for a 170 PLN deduction if the assignment ended early.
These amounts show the conditions of those two specific offers and do not represent the average salary for all workers in Poland. The upper end depends on hours, supplements, and the conditions for a higher rate. Before deciding, establish which rate is guaranteed for the candidate and how many hours are confirmed by the schedule.
The number of active offers changes daily. Conditions may change after a schedule update or recruitment round, so check the latest information in the vacancy listing before applying. If exact accommodation or schedule details are missing, clarify them before paying for travel.
Recruitment also depends on the season. Before holidays, sales periods, or busy production periods, demand for warehouse workers may increase, while the number of available shifts may fall after the peak. The phrase «many hours» therefore needs confirmation for the entire planned period of employment.
From 1 January 2026, the minimum salary under an employment contract in Poland is 4,806 PLN gross per month. The minimum hourly rate for agreements to which it applies is 31.40 PLN gross per hour. Gross means the amount before taxes and contributions; net means the payment after mandatory deductions.
A rate of 31.40 PLN gross cannot be compared directly with 27 PLN net. First, convert both offers to the same basis and check the agreement type, tax status, and any applicable reliefs. This is why the vacancy listing should clearly state «gross» or «net», not just a number.
Calculation example: 31.40 PLN gross × 168 hours = 5,275.20 PLN gross. This is not a forecast of take-home pay: net income will depend on the agreement, taxes, and contributions. If accommodation costs 700 PLN and transport 150 PLN per month, these expenses should be deducted separately from the actual payment.
To estimate what remains after expenses, use confirmed net pay only. For example, with 6,000 PLN net income, 700 PLN for accommodation, 150 PLN for transport, and a personal food budget of 1,000 PLN, 4,150 PLN would remain after these expenses. The food cost here is only an illustrative personal budget, not an average price for Poland.
When comparing vacancies, check:
the basic and higher rate;
the number of guaranteed hours;
supplements for nights, weekends, and public holidays;
bonus conditions and productivity targets;
the cost of accommodation and transport;
the date of the first salary payment;
all possible penalties and deductions.
The phrase «up to 9,000 PLN» shows a maximum scenario, not a guaranteed payment. If the employer cannot show how the upper amount is calculated, assess the offer using the basic rate and guaranteed hours.
WORKIUM filters include Monday–Friday, Monday–Saturday, and rotating schedules. Shift lengths may be 8, 8–10, 10–12, or 12 hours. These are catalogue options, not a universal rule for every employer.
The phrase «10–12 hour shifts» does not explain how many such shifts there will be each week. Ask for an example of a real seven-day schedule showing start times, breaks, night shifts, days off, and how overtime is agreed.
Practical scenario: 30 PLN net for 160 hours gives 4,800 PLN net before agreed expenses. A rate of 28 PLN net for 200 hours gives 5,600 PLN net. The second vacancy pays more, but the candidate spends 40 additional hours at work. Both income and workload should be compared.
If an advertisement states «up to 240 hours», clarify how many hours are guaranteed by the agreement and how many appear only during the season or when there are sufficient orders.
Many candidates immediately look for offers that include accommodation, so these conditions should be checked separately for each vacancy. A more detailed selection of such offers is available on the work with accommodation page.
The phrase «accommodation provided» does not mean that it is free. Ask the recruiter to confirm in writing:
the monthly cost and utilities;
the deposit and refund conditions;
the number of people per room;
the address and photographs;
the journey time and transport cost;
move-out rules after the job ends.
WORKIUM filters include rooms for 2 people, 3–4 people, 5–8 people, and a separate room for a couple. These options may appear in the catalogue, but the actual conditions must be checked for the specific vacancy.
Example: accommodation costing 500 PLN may ultimately be more expensive than accommodation costing 700 PLN if the first option requires paid daily transport and two additional hours of commuting. Assess the total costs and the door-to-door journey time.
A biometric passport by itself is not a universal work permit. The lawful basis depends on citizenship, residence status, the type of work, and the rules in force at the time of employment. For Ukrainians, temporary protection in the EU has been extended until 4 March 2027, but the specific procedure in Poland should be checked before starting work.
Before travelling, the candidate should know:
the legal name of the employer or agency;
the workplace address;
the agreement type;
the document providing the legal basis for employment;
the gross or net rate;
the work start date;
who is responsible for accommodation and coordination.
Vacancies often involve umowa o pracę and umowa zlecenia. They differ in pay rules, contributions, annual leave, and other rights, so the agreement type should be known before travelling rather than on the first working day.
Written conditions should match the vacancy listing. If the rate, city, position, or accommodation cost changes when the agreement is signed, do not sign automatically — first obtain an explanation and a new calculation.
Before signing, compare the rate, city of work, position, schedule, accommodation cost, and termination conditions once again. If an important point is missing from the agreement or an appendix, a verbal arrangement does not guarantee that it will be honoured.
If employment is arranged by a Polish agency, check its registration number in KRAZ — the state register of employment agencies. The name and registration number should match the details in the agreement. Registration does not replace checking the conditions, but it helps identify intermediaries that are not listed in the official register.
In a WORKIUM vacancy listing, candidates can see the main conditions before applying: the rate, schedule, requirements, accommodation, and additional terms. The properly executed agreement remains the final legal basis for work, not a message in a messenger app.
Many warehouses and manufacturing sites provide on-the-job training. However, «no experience» does not mean there are no requirements. Clarify the training duration, whether it is paid, the rate during probation, and the criteria for moving to the full target.
Some candidates look for vacancies where Polish is not a mandatory requirement. Even then, the employee must understand safety instructions, supervisors' commands, production signals, and the procedure for reporting an injury.
Before booking, ask which language is used for training, whether an English-speaking coordinator is available, and how written instructions are provided. Even a high rate does not solve the problem if the employee does not understand safety rules or working conditions.
WORKIUM vacancies may be in Warsaw, Wrocław, Poznań, Katowice, and smaller towns. A larger city does not always mean higher net income: rent and transport may cost more, while the company itself is often located in the suburbs.
When choosing a city, the name alone is not enough. The actual distance between accommodation and work, transport, and monthly expenses also matter:
the exact workplace address;
the accommodation address;
the journey duration;
who pays for transport;
access to shops and medical care;
whether accommodation can be changed in case of conflict.
For warehouse or factory work, a smaller town with organised free transport may sometimes be more advantageous than Warsaw with privately arranged accommodation. The decision should be based on monthly cost calculations.
Start by defining your own limits: minimum income after expenses, acceptable shift length, attitude to night work, maximum weight, and whether accommodation is required. Then compare 3–5 vacancies using the same indicators.
Before travelling, check several key points:
Verify the employer, address, and job title.
Obtain the rate clearly marked as gross or net.
Ask for the guaranteed hours to be confirmed.
Check accommodation, commuting, and all deductions.
Clarify the agreement type and lawful basis for employment.
Find out the date of the first payment.
Save the vacancy listing and written arrangements.
Before travelling, ask the recruiter who pays for the medical examination and paperwork, whether the rate changes after training, and the exact date of the first payment. The answers should relate to the specific vacancy selected, not to statements such as «this is how it usually works with us».
Red flags include an unknown legal employer name, no address, a maximum salary without a calculation, a request for an unexplained payment, changes to the conditions after booking, or refusal to show the agreement before work starts.
After checking the conditions, view current vacancies in Poland on WORKIUM. Compare several options and apply only when the conditions important to you have been confirmed.
During the first few days, compare the actual workplace, accommodation, schedule, and rate with the written arrangements. If the conditions have changed, save messages and documents and contact the coordinator immediately — do not wait for the first salary payment before reporting discrepancies.
Before applying for a vacancy, check not only the rate but also the schedule, accommodation, costs, and agreement conditions. Open the WORKIUM catalogue, select several offers in Poland, and clarify all unknown details before travelling.
Check how many working hours the employer guarantees, what the work schedule will be, where the workplace is located, and how much accommodation and transportation cost. A high hourly rate does not always mean higher earnings: there may be too few guaranteed hours, and part of your income may be deducted for housing or transportation. To compare two job offers, ask for a full breakdown of your expected income and expenses for a typical month.
Many employers hire people without experience for warehouse work, packing, sorting, production line jobs, cleaning, and general support roles. However, “no experience required” does not mean “no requirements.” Employers may expect physical stamina, the ability to work at a fast pace, willingness to work night shifts, or the ability to use a scanner. Before applying, ask for a detailed description of the job responsibilities and what a typical workday looks like.
Gross salary is the amount before taxes and mandatory contributions are deducted, while net salary is the amount an employee actually receives after those deductions. The difference depends on the type of employment contract and your individual circumstances, so there is no universal conversion. Ask the employer whether the salary listed in the job offer is gross or net, and request an estimated calculation for your specific situation. Comparing one job offer that lists a gross salary with another that lists a net salary is misleading.
Yes, especially in warehouses and manufacturing. However, you still need to understand safety instructions, workplace commands, and company rules. Ask which language is used to train new employees and who will help you during your first few days on the job. For positions involving customers, documentation, or technical equipment, knowledge of Polish may be required.
Ask for the exact address, up-to-date photos, the full cost, the number of people sharing the room, and information about any security deposit. Also find out whether utility bills are included and how far the accommodation is from the workplace. The phrase “accommodation provided” does not necessarily mean it is free of charge or located close to the workplace.
A trustworthy job offer should provide clear information about the employer, the workplace address, the employment contract, the pay rate, working hours, accommodation, and a contact person after your arrival. Be cautious if you are asked to pay simply for the opportunity to get the job, if the employer refuses to disclose the address, or if you are pressured to buy a ticket immediately. Keep all important terms in writing and review them again before you travel.
