Bydgoszcz — is a major industrial and logistics centre in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. The city seeks workers for manufacturing, warehouses, logistics, retail, cleaning, transport, and technical services. Many companies are located in the Bydgoszcz Industrial and Technology Park and on the south-eastern outskirts, so the address and transport for a particular shift may matter more than the distance to the city centre.
Candidates need to know not only the job title but also the actual working conditions: where the workplace is located, how many hours are guaranteed, whether Polish is required, how transport is organised, and what is stated in the agreement.

How to apply safely
Bydgoszcz combines traditional manufacturing, plastics processing, metalworking, electrical engineering, railway-equipment repair and manufacturing, warehouses, and modern logistics. Central and residential districts have more vacancies in shops, hotels, restaurants, cleaning, and services.
Common positions include:
production-line operator;
assembly worker;
packer;
quality controller;
warehouse worker;
order picker;
forklift operator with the required authorisation;
fitter or welder;
CNC operator;
shop worker;
cleaner;
driver or transport-company employee.
One job title may conceal very different workloads. For example, a «production operator» may only place a part in a device and monitor the cycle, while in another vacancy the employee moves materials, performs visual inspections, and completes documentation in Polish. Before applying, request a list of daily operations, the permitted weight, and information about standing work.
The Bydgoszcz Industrial and Technology Park covers 286.4 hectares, of which 46 hectares belong to a subzone of the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone. The presence of large companies in the city does not automatically mean that vacancies are open — check current advertisements that include the address, rate, and start date.
If you are comparing cities, begin with the general overview of vacancies in Poland. This page focuses specifically on Bydgoszcz, its industrial zones, and local transport.
Industrial and logistics facilities are often located outside the city centre. Important areas are situated near Bydgoskich Przemysłowców, Petersona, and Nowotoruńska streets and within the industrial and technology park. An advertisement may state only «Bydgoszcz», although the actual entrance to the workplace may be far from the nearest stop.
Before confirming a vacancy, obtain:
the full address;
the building or gate number;
the shift start and finish times;
the public-transport route;
the boarding point for the employer-provided bus;
the timetable at night, at weekends, and on public holidays.
For example, ten kilometres to the industrial park may mean 25 minutes by direct bus or more than an hour with two transfers. If the shift ends after the final service, the employee needs employer-provided or alternative transport. Check the route for the exact day and time required.
Which part of the city to check first
For work in the industrial and technology park, the convenience of accommodation depends on transport links with the south-eastern part of the city rather than proximity to the Old Town. Kapuściska and Wyżyny may be practical reference points for routes towards industrial zones, but every address requires a separate check. If the workplace is near Łęgnowo or outside the densely built-up area, employer-provided transport is especially important. Fordon also has jobs in retail, services, and at individual companies, but the journey from there to the industrial park may be long. Do not choose accommodation based only on the district name: check the travel time for the start and finish of your shift.
Why logistics is prominent in the city
Large warehouse complexes are being developed near the industrial park. One new logistics project provides 66,600 m² of warehouse and office space, while its first stage delivered almost 44,000 m². This explains the importance of logistics to the city, but it does not guarantee continuous recruitment: vacancies depend on particular tenants and seasonal workloads.
Future investment should also not be presented as work available today. If a factory plans to launch production in 2027 or 2028, check whether recruitment has already opened and what the actual start date is.
Positions in packing, simple assembly, warehouse work, or cleaning may be available without experience if the employer provides training. Technical vacancies more often require practical skills, the ability to read drawings, use measuring tools, or hold a confirmed certificate.
Before applying, check:
the permitted weight;
the pace and repetitive nature of the operations;
whether the work is standing or seated;
the temperature and noise level;
night shifts;
the medical examination;
the required authorisations;
the language used for instructions.
Work should not be divided into «women's» and «men's» jobs based only on the job title. The actual duties, physical workload, schedule, qualifications, and lawful employer requirements are decisive. In specific offers, focus on these conditions.
In 2026, the minimum salary in Poland for full-time employment under an umowa o pracę is 4,806 PLN gross per month. The minimum hourly rate for specified civil-law contracts, including many umowa zlecenie agreements, is 31.40 PLN gross. These are statutory minimums, not the average salary in Bydgoszcz.
Ask the recruiter to specify:
the gross rate;
the contract type;
the guaranteed hours;
supplements for night work, overtime, and public holidays;
the bonus rules;
all deductions;
the date of the first payment.
Example: 32.50 PLN gross × 168 guaranteed hours = 5,460 PLN gross before supplements. An offer of 31.40 PLN × 200 hours provides 6,280 PLN gross, but it is necessary to determine whether all hours are guaranteed and how overtime is arranged. The net amount depends on the agreement, taxes, and the employee's status.
Based on WORKIUM's vacancy-verification practice, the wording «up to 8,000 PLN» requires an explanation. Ask how many hours and which bonuses are needed to reach the maximum amount. If the recruiter cannot provide a written calculation, do not treat the upper limit as guaranteed income.
Manufacturing and warehouse vacancies may involve two or three shifts, 5/2 or 6/1 schedules, and shifts lasting 8–12 hours. In retail and services, schedules are often variable. Conditions depend on the employer, so a general phrase in an advertisement does not replace the actual timetable.
Clarify:
the minimum number of hours;
the times of all shifts;
whether night work is compulsory;
who decides whether the shift is extended;
how overtime is paid;
when the schedule is issued;
how long the breaks last.
Eight hours of work and 70 minutes of travel in each direction — mean more than 10 hours away from the accommodation. With a 6/1 schedule, the difference between direct employer-provided transport and two transfers significantly affects the workload.
In logistics, the number of shifts may increase before seasonal peaks, while manufacturing recruitment — may open for a particular order. Ask about the duration of the agreement and guaranteed employment after the peak period ends.
Vacancies without fluent Polish are available in packing, simple assembly, warehouse work, and some manufacturing operations. However, the employee must understand safety instructions and be able to report an injury, defect, or breakdown.
Before starting work, find out:
which language is used for training;
whether there is a Ukrainian-speaking or Russian-speaking coordinator;
which language is used by the scanner or terminal;
who assigns tasks during the shift;
whether Polish is required to move to a more complex operation.
Polish is more often required in retail, hotels, restaurants, and customer-facing work. In technical positions, it may be necessary for documentation, drawings, and quality control. Therefore, the question should not only be «is the language required?» but also «which language is used for instructions, work, and communication with the supervisor?».
For some candidates, accommodation is an important factor, but working conditions, address, and schedule remain key. If the employer offers accommodation, check the full price, address, and route to the workplace for every shift.
An option that is 400 PLN cheaper may add 60 minutes of travel every day or require paid transport. Compare rent, transport, and time together.
If you need work in Bydgoszcz with accommodation, details about rooms, the deposit, photographs, living rules, and moving-out conditions should be checked separately.
Before publication, WORKIUM checks the available information about the employer, workplace address, contract type, rate, schedule, accommodation availability, and transport arrangements. This allows the candidate to assess the offer before departure. The final version of the agreement must still be checked again because the address, schedule, or start date may change.
Check:
the company's legal name;
the workplace address;
the daily duties;
the contract type;
the gross rate;
the guaranteed hours;
the supplements and bonuses;
all deductions;
the medical examination and authorisations;
the transport, accommodation, and payment date.
Do not sign a document containing blank fields. If the agreement differs from the correspondence, request corrections before starting work. Do not pay for a certificate or course until the employer has confirmed in writing that it is required specifically for this position.
Before moving:
choose a current vacancy;
check the company and contact details;
obtain the full description;
compare the rate, hours, address, and journey;
record the conditions in writing;
only then plan your departure.
Do not transfer money to a private bank card to «reserve a vacancy». Do not buy a ticket without the address, start date, rate, and coordinator's contact details. Review current WORKIUM vacancies and choose an offer based on the full conditions rather than one number in the headline.
Your earnings depend on the position, the type of contract, the number of working hours, night shifts, and your qualifications. Compare the gross pay, the guaranteed number of working hours, additional payments, and all deductions. Ask for an estimated pay calculation based on your work schedule and a written list of all deductions.
Such vacancies are available in basic manufacturing operations, packing, assembly, and warehouse work. Confirm which language is used for safety instructions and daily communication. The conditions for the specific vacancy should be confirmed before buying tickets.
Many manufacturing and logistics facilities are located in the industrial and technology park and on the southeastern outskirts of the city. For each vacancy, you should have the exact workplace address and a route for your work shift. Ask for the exact address and verify the route from your accommodation to the workplace for each shift.
The most common vacancies are in manufacturing, assembly, packing, quality control, warehouse work, logistics, metalworking, retail, cleaning, and transportation. The current selection of vacancies depends on employers and the season. The conditions for the specific vacancy should be confirmed before buying tickets.
Such opportunities are available, but the accommodation may be paid and located far from the workplace. Check the accommodation cost, address, and transportation arrangements. Before your departure, obtain the exact address, the full accommodation cost, up-to-date photos, and the accommodation rules in writing.
