Jobs in hotels, food service, and visitor support may depend on the season and the schedule of a particular establishment.

Which vacancies are available in Toruń

In and around the city, candidates can look for work in manufacturing, warehouse logistics, distribution, retail, the food sector, cleaning, hotels, and restaurants. In 2025, construction began on the new CTPark Toruń logistics and manufacturing complex on a site covering more than 14 hectares. The project includes two buildings with a combined area of more than 46,600 m² for logistics, e-commerce, light manufacturing, and distribution.

Possible positions include:

• production-line or machine operator;

• packer and quality controller;

• order picker and warehouse worker;

• forklift operator;

• food-production worker;

• driver or delivery worker;

• housekeeper, cleaner, or kitchen worker;

• cashier, sales assistant, or service employee.

One job title does not guarantee the same duties. A «warehouse worker» may pick orders with a scanner, unload goods, pack parcels, or work in a chilled area. The advertisement should clearly state the weight of the goods, temperature, targets, whether UDT authorisation is required, and how much of the work is manual.

Where manufacturing and logistics employers are concentrated

One of the key locations is Strefa Inwestycyjno-Logistyczna Toruń-Wschód near Świdnicka and Przelot streets, close to the A1, DK10, and DK80 routes. The city's 2026 investment offer connects this area with services, manufacturing, warehouses, and logistics. Companies operating there include TZMO, InPost, United Beverages, and Dachser. A company's presence in the zone does not mean that it is currently recruiting, but the employer's name and exact address help verify the authenticity of the advertisement and the route.

The northern part of the city along Forteczna and Strobanda streets has also developed as a manufacturing and logistics zone. Another important site is Park Przemysłowy ELANA. Searching only in central Toruń therefore narrows the options: warehouses and factories are often closer to outbound roads than to the Old Town.

The local labour market is not limited to warehouses. Major Toruń-based companies include the pharmaceutical group NEUCA, the medical and hygiene products manufacturer TZMO, and the food company Cereal Partners Poland Toruń-Pacific. According to data published by the city for 2025, average employment at NEUCA exceeded 5,100 employees, while Cereal Partners employed 949 people. These figures illustrate the scale of local industries rather than confirming vacancies on a particular date.

Manufacturing, warehouses, and logistics

Logistics and industrial facilities are not located only in the historic centre. An advertisement may state «Toruń» even though the actual workplace is in an industrial district or outside the city's administrative boundary. The exact address is needed before accepting the vacancy.

For warehouse work, ask:

• whether a scanner is used and which language the system interface uses;

• what weight must be lifted without assistance;

• whether there is an order-picking target and how it is calculated;

• whether UDT authorisation is required;

• the temperature in the work area;

• whether training, the medical examination, and work clothing are paid for.

In manufacturing, it is important to identify the specific operation. The phrase «machine servicing» may mean feeding materials, monitoring parameters, cleaning equipment, or independently changing machine settings. The last of these usually requires different qualifications and greater responsibility.

When pay depends on output targets, the written rules should state the unit of measurement, adaptation period, minimum result, and reasons why the bonus may be reduced. A promise of «a bonus of up to 1,000 PLN» does not explain how much an employee will receive at a normal working pace.

Work in hotels, food service, and customer-facing roles

Toruń is a tourist city, so vacancies in hotels, restaurants, cafés, cleaning, and retail appear alongside industrial jobs. Schedules for these positions often include weekends, evening hours, or work during public holidays and major events.

The rate alone is not enough to assess this type of work. A kitchen worker may have separate hours for preparation before opening and cleaning after closing. A housekeeper needs to know not only the shift length but also the number of rooms, cleaning standard, availability of a lift, and how additional rooms are paid.

Polish is usually more important in guest-facing work than in some warehouse or manufacturing operations. The requirements should specify the actual level needed: basic workplace commands, communication with customers, taking orders, or completing documentation.

A seasonal increase in visitors does not guarantee year-round employment. For a permanent vacancy, the agreement should define the minimum number of paid hours during less busy months as well.

How much you can earn

From 1 January 2026, the minimum salary under an employment contract in Poland is 4,806 PLN gross per month. The minimum hourly rate for certain civil-law contracts is 31.40 PLN gross per hour. This is the national minimum, not the average income in Toruń.

To compare two hourly offers, calculate:

rate × guaranteed paid hours + supplements confirmed in writing − accommodation − transport − other deductions.

Illustrative calculation: 31.40 PLN gross × 168 paid hours = 5,275.20 PLN gross before taxes and deductions. The net amount depends on the agreement, tax status, and personal circumstances.

A rate of 34 PLN per hour is not necessarily better than 32 PLN. If the first vacancy guarantees 160 hours and charges for transport, while the second guarantees 200 hours and provides free transport, the monthly result will be different. Compare the hours guaranteed in writing rather than the maximum number mentioned.

Before comparing vacancies, it is worth knowing five more things:

• whether the advertisement states a gross or net rate;

• how many hours are guaranteed by the agreement;

• how night, weekend, and overtime hours are paid;

• whether the bonus is included in the stated rate;

• which expenses are deducted from the salary.

Schedule, transport, and accommodation

Toruń has daytime and night bus and tram services. However, the existence of night transport does not guarantee a convenient route to a particular warehouse or industrial site. The route should be checked using the exact address, transfers, and the first and last service times for the relevant shift.

Labels such as 5/2, 6/1, or «three shifts» are not enough. You need the exact start and finish times, the length of paid breaks, the rotation pattern, weekend work requirements, and the number of guaranteed hours per month. A 05:00 shift may require employer-provided transport, while a 23:00 finish requires a realistic return route.

A document setting out the accommodation conditions should include:

• the exact address and travel time;

• the number of people in the room;

• the monthly charge and utility costs;

• the deposit and refund rules;

• charges for days before the employee starts work;

• whether the accommodation remains available if the vacancy changes.

A vacancy may state only that «accommodation is provided», even though the employee separately pays rent, utilities, or a deposit and lives outside Toruń. If accommodation is a deciding factor, compare work in Poland with accommodation and request a written list of all costs.

How to check a vacancy

Before applying, check six basic points: the employer's full name, address, duties, contract type, rate, and guaranteed hours. Only after that should you assess the schedule, bonuses, accommodation, transport, and possible deductions.

If the vacancy is offered by an agency, the message should include its full name and the company that will be a party to the agreement. Do not pay for a «place reservation», a promise of a vacancy, a test, or documents without a clear written basis.

A few precise questions before applying often save hours of correspondence. The recruiter should be able to state in one message the address, the operation performed during the shift, guaranteed hours, whether the rate is gross or net, and the accommodation and transport conditions. Answers such as «everything will be explained on site» or «up to 8,000 PLN» are not enough — the main conditions have not yet been agreed.

Forklift work, equipment operation, and work with food products require a clear list of certificates, medical examinations, and training. Do not begin an operation without the necessary safety instructions and authorisation.
