Opole is the administrative and industrial centre of the Opole Voivodeship. The city and its suburbs have companies operating in food production, mechanical engineering, automotive manufacturing, construction, and filtration, as well as warehouses, logistics companies, retail, and services. Some vacancies are located in the economic zone or on the outskirts, so the city name in an advertisement does not replace the exact address.
To compare offers, you need more than the rate and job title. The agreement, guaranteed hours, supplements, actual duties, transport after a night shift, and all deductions matter. These conditions determine the actual income and daily workload.

Opole combines manufacturing with a large service sector. Its industries include food production, mechanical engineering, automotive components, construction materials, filtration systems, and metalworking. In the city centre and residential districts, employers more often seek workers for retail, restaurants, hotels, cleaning, and services.
Positions include:
production-line operator;
assembly worker;
packer;
quality controller;
warehouse worker;
order picker;
forklift operator with the required authorisation;
CNC operator;
fitter or mechanic;
shop worker;
cleaner;
kitchen worker;
driver and logistics worker.
The same job title may involve completely different tasks. For example, an operator at a food-production company may monitor a line, follow hygiene procedures, and work in a cool environment. At a component factory, the same title may involve assembly, measurements, and completing documentation. Before applying, ask for a description of the operations, temperature, permitted weight, and target.
The Wrzoski economic zone in Opole is developing rapidly. Major industrial investments are being implemented there, including an Ascend Elements battery-materials plant worth approximately 7 billion PLN with more than 200 planned jobs and a new Kumho Tire factory with announced investment of more than 2.2 billion PLN. In the first stage, the facility will have approximately 140,000 m² of production space, while production is planned to begin at the end of 2028. This confirms the development of Opole's industrial zone, but future projects should not be treated as vacancies that are open today. Rely only on current advertisements and a confirmed recruitment start date.
If you are still comparing cities, review the general overview of work in Poland. This page focuses on the local characteristics of Opole.
Industrial and warehouse facilities are located in different parts of the city, including the economic zone and areas near major road routes. Some employers may state «Opole» even though the workplace is in a neighbouring municipality or town in Opole County.
Before confirming a vacancy, obtain:
the full address;
the building or gate number;
the times of all shifts;
the public-transport route;
the night and weekend timetable;
the boarding point for the employer-provided bus;
the accommodation address.
For example, a factory may be only a few kilometres from the city centre, but the shift starts at 06:00. The daytime route looks convenient, while the first bus arrives after work has already begun. Without employer-provided transport or a private vehicle, such a vacancy would require a taxi every day.
City or suburbs
Central districts are generally more convenient for retail, services, hotels, and restaurants. Manufacturing sites and warehouses may be closer to ring roads, industrial areas, or neighbouring municipalities. Accommodation near the city centre does not always provide the shortest journey: a direct bus from a residential district may be more practical than a shorter distance involving a transfer.
When searching, pay attention to the economic zone, industrial areas near Północna, and the directions of Zakrzów and Wrzoski. These are not lists of guaranteed vacancies but reference points for checking the address. If the workplace is in a neighbouring municipality, the recruiter should provide not only «Opole» but also the specific town and transport arrangements.
For early and night shifts, transport availability is often more important than distance in kilometres. Check not the daytime route but the first service before work starts and the last service after it finishes.
Vacancies in simple assembly, packing, warehouse work, and cleaning may be available without Polish work experience if the employer provides training. Technical positions more often require a certificate, the ability to read drawings and use measuring tools, a practical test, or Polish-language skills.
Before applying, clarify:
whether the work is standing or seated;
the permitted weight;
the temperature and noise level;
the pace of operations;
night shifts;
the medical examination;
the required authorisations;
the language used for instructions.
Women looking for work in Opole should assess the specific weight, pace, schedule, transport, and duties rather than relying on the label «vacancy for women».
At factories in Opole, conditions depend on the department, process, and product: assembly, a food-production line, quality control, and metalworking have different requirements. Details depend on the company and should therefore be checked against the description of the specific vacancy.
In 2026, the minimum salary in Poland for full-time employment under an umowa o pracę is 4,806 PLN gross per month. The minimum hourly rate for specified civil-law contracts is 31.40 PLN gross. These are statutory minimums, not the average salary in Opole.
Clarify:
the gross rate;
the contract type;
the guaranteed hours;
supplements for night work, public holidays, and overtime;
the bonus conditions;
all deductions;
the date of the first payment.
Example: 33 PLN gross × 168 guaranteed hours = 5,544 PLN gross before supplements. A rate of 31.40 PLN for 200 hours gives 6,280 PLN gross, but it is necessary to know whether all hours are guaranteed and how overtime is arranged. The net amount depends on the agreement, taxes, and the employee's status.
If an advertisement states «up to 8,000 PLN», request a calculation of the hours, bonuses, and supplements. The upper limit may include night shifts, overtime, or a bonus subject to additional conditions.
Manufacturing and warehouse work may involve two or three shifts, 5/2 or 6/1 schedules, and shifts lasting 8–12 hours. In retail, cleaning, and services, the timetable may vary and include weekend work.
Ask for:
the guaranteed minimum number of hours;
the times of all shifts;
the rules for night work;
overtime payment;
the length of breaks;
the date when the schedule is issued;
transport after the shift.
A ten-hour shift and 60 minutes of travel in each direction mean 12 hours away from the accommodation. With a 6/1 schedule, this is a substantial workload even if the hourly rate is slightly higher.
In food production and logistics, the workload may vary seasonally. Ask for how long the agreement is concluded and how many hours remain after the peak period.
Vacancies without fluent Polish are available in simple assembly, packing, warehouses, and some manufacturing operations. However, the employee must understand safety instructions and be able to report a defect, injury, or breakdown.
Check:
the language used for instructions;
whether an English-speaking coordinator is available;
the language used by the scanner and equipment;
how tasks are assigned;
the Polish-language requirements for more complex operations.
Polish is more often required in shops, restaurants, hotels, and customer-facing work. In a technical position, it may be necessary for documentation, quality control, and communication with the supervisor.
If the employer offers accommodation, check the full price, address, and transport to the workplace for every shift. The wording «accommodation is provided» does not mean that it is free.
An option that is 400 PLN cheaper may add an hour of travel every day or require taxi journeys. Compare rent, transport, and time together.
If the employer offers accommodation in Opole, separately check the price, address, number of people in the room, deposit, and journey time to work.
Before publication, WORKIUM checks the address, agreement conditions, rate, schedule, transport options, and accommodation if it is offered. The team pays particular attention to the difference between the city name in the advertisement and the actual address, guaranteed hours, and transport after the shift. Before departure, the candidate checks the final conditions again because the start date or address may change.
Checklist:
the company's legal name;
the actual address;
the daily duties;
the contract type;
the gross rate;
the guaranteed hours;
the supplements and bonuses;
all deductions;
the accommodation and transport;
the payment date and coordinator's contact details.
Do not sign a document containing blank fields. If the conditions differ from the correspondence, request corrections before starting work.
Before moving:
choose a current vacancy;
check the employer;
obtain a full description of the conditions;
compare the rate, hours, address, and route;
record the arrangements in writing;
only then plan your departure.
Do not transfer money to a private bank card to «reserve a place». Do not buy a ticket without the address, rate, start date, and coordinator's contact details. Review current WORKIUM vacancies and choose based on the full conditions.
Your earnings depend on the position, the type of contract, the number of working hours, night shifts, and your qualifications. Compare the gross pay, the guaranteed number of working hours, additional payments, and all deductions. Ask for an estimated pay calculation based on your work schedule and a written list of all deductions.
Such vacancies are available in simple production roles, packing, and warehouse work. Check which language is used for training and daily communication. The conditions for the specific vacancy should be confirmed before buying tickets.
Most job opportunities are in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, food production, retail, and the service sector. Some workplaces are located outside the city centre, so make sure to confirm the exact address in advance. The conditions for the specific vacancy should be confirmed before buying tickets.
No. Some workplaces may be located in the economic zone, on the outskirts of the city, or in a neighbouring municipality. Make sure to confirm the exact address and route. Ask for the precise workplace address and check the route from your accommodation for every shift.
Such opportunities are available, but the accommodation may be paid and located far from the workplace. Check the full accommodation cost, address, and transportation arrangements. Before your departure, obtain the exact address, the full accommodation cost, up-to-date photos, and the accommodation rules in writing.
