Vacancy A offers PLN 34 gross per hour and 168 guaranteed hours:

34 × 168 = PLN 5,712 gross.

Vacancy B offers PLN 32 gross per hour and 200 guaranteed hours:

32 × 200 = PLN 6,400 gross.

The second vacancy has a lower rate but guarantees higher earnings. Accommodation, transport, and other deductions must then be included.

“Up to 240 hours per month” means a possible maximum, not a required amount. Written terms should state the hours the employer actually guarantees.

What schedule a vacancy may have

Manufacturing and warehouse work may use 5/2 or 6/1 schedules, two or three shifts, and 8-, 10-, or 12-hour working days. The number of shifts may change with orders, so a verbal promise of constant work does not replace written terms.

When comparing schedules, know the guaranteed shifts, start and finish times, night supplements, overtime rules, whether breaks are paid, notice of schedule changes, and whether extra shifts can be refused.

In Wałbrzych, the shift start often determines whether public transport is practical. A 6:00 a.m. shift may work with a company bus but not if the first city service arrives later. The same applies after 10:00 p.m. or at night.

How to assess accommodation and commuting

Before travelling, know the employer’s legal name and contract type. The contracting party may be the company, a temporary employment agency, or another Polish business.

The contract or written confirmation should state the employer’s legal name, contract type, gross or net rate, guaranteed hours, payment deadlines, all deductions, workplace address, termination procedure, and legal basis for work in Poland.

A payment for “reserving a position” without a contract and official company details is a serious risk. Every payment should be justified in writing, and company details must be verifiable.

For example, vacancy A has a higher rate but only 168 guaranteed hours; vacancy B offers 200 hours but more expensive accommodation; vacancy C pays less but is close to housing and provides night-shift transport.

Compare the final result: guaranteed monthly earnings, accommodation and transport costs, real travel time, schedule and night shifts, duties and workload, contract type, and all deductions.

A missing parameter is not automatically included. If accommodation costs, hours, or the route are absent, obtain them in writing before travelling.

The best vacancy is not necessarily the one with the highest rate, but the one combining guaranteed hours, acceptable workload, a clear contract, and a realistic route for every shift.
