Work in Ústí nad Labem may involve manufacturing, warehouses, logistics, packing, quality control, and support operations. Comparing job titles and hourly rates alone is not enough when choosing a vacancy.
The specific operation, physical workload, temperature, noise, protective equipment, schedule, guaranteed hours, exact address, and transport should all be checked. A vacancy may be labelled with the city name even though the company is located on the outskirts or in another town in the Ústí nad Labem Region.
The material was updated on 29 July 2026. Statutory amounts are stated as gross unless expressly indicated otherwise.

Vacancies may appear in Ústí nad Labem and nearby towns in manufacturing, warehouses, logistics, packing, order picking, quality control, and support services. The current range depends on open offers.
Possible operations:
supplying materials;
assembling parts;
visual inspection;
packing and labelling;
order picking with a scanner;
moving containers;
preparing products for dispatch;
cleaning the work area.
The same job title may refer to different work. An operator may place a component into a mould, inspect the surface of a product, operate a simple section of equipment, or pack finished parts.
Before publishing a vacancy, the WORKIUM team checks whether it contains a clear description of the duties, rate, schedule, address, transport, and accommodation where offered. If any conditions are missing from the description, clarify them before travelling.
Practical example. Two advertisements state «quality control». At the first workplace, the employee inspects small products while seated. At the second, they stand beside a production line, turn a part, and move filled containers. The title is similar, but the workload is different.
General documents and legal rules are explained on the work in the Czech Republic page. This page deals specifically with local vacancies in Ústí nad Labem.
Ask for the entire work process to be shown or described: which material the employee receives, which action is performed, how long the cycle lasts, and what happens to the finished unit.
Clarify:
whether the work is performed standing or seated;
how often the movement is repeated;
the maximum weight;
whether bending or reaching is required;
whether a knife or tool is used;
whether there are hot surfaces or sharp edges;
how often the operation changes;
what is considered a defect.
Phrases such as «light work», «simple packing», or «support operations» do not explain the actual conditions.
Illustrative example. A part weighs 450 g, but the employee picks it up, turns it, checks it, and puts it aside every 20 seconds. That is up to 180 cycles per hour. This calculation is not the target for a specific vacancy, but it shows the significance of repeated movements.
If boxes must be carried, ask for the maximum weight and lifting frequency. A 10 kg box moved twice during a shift with a trolley and the same box lifted every five minutes create different workloads.
Temperature, noise, ventilation, material odours, and protective equipment can affect wellbeing as much as the schedule. The phrase «work in a workshop» does not explain the conditions in which the person will actually work.
Before accepting a vacancy, find out:
the temperature in the work area;
whether equipment creates local heat;
whether material odours are noticeable;
how the ventilation works;
whether hearing protection is required;
which gloves, safety glasses, and footwear are provided;
who pays for replacement work clothing;
whether additional breaks are provided for demanding conditions.
Example. The description states «work with plastic parts». This does not explain whether the product arrives cooled, whether it is handled immediately after moulding, or whether there is local heat and an odour. Ask for a description of the work area and details of the protective equipment.
If the employee must purchase footwear or clothing independently, clarify the requirements, price, and possible reimbursement before the first shift.
To assess the target, it is necessary to know what is counted: parts, products, boxes, orders, or completed operations.
Ask:
how many units are expected per hour;
whether the target changes during the shift;
how many shifts the training lasts;
from which day full pace is expected;
who supports the new employee;
how technical stoppages are taken into account;
whether defects affect the bonus.
Training example. During the first shift, the employee receives instruction and becomes familiar with the operation; during the next two, they work with a mentor; and then they move to independent work. This is a model for clarification, not the procedure of a specific employer.
Check whether training is paid and whether the rate differs. Written confirmation should preferably be obtained before starting.
In the Czech Republic, standard working time is 40 hours per week. It is 38.75 hours for a two-shift system and 37.5 hours for a three-shift or continuous system. One shift should not exceed 12 hours.
Request an example of an actual week and check:
the start and finish times of the shifts;
the rotation pattern;
whether night work is included;
the guaranteed hours;
the length of breaks;
how working time is recorded;
payment for training;
the rules for additional shifts.
From 1 January to 31 December 2026, the minimum wage in the Czech Republic for a standard 40-hour week is 22,400 CZK gross per month or 134.40 CZK gross per hour. This is the statutory minimum, not the typical rate for every vacancy in Ústí nad Labem.
For a preliminary income calculation, use:
rate × guaranteed hours + guaranteed supplements − confirmed expenses.
Illustrative example. 169 CZK gross × 160 guaranteed hours = 27,040 CZK gross before supplements. Another vacancy with a rate of 161 CZK and 180 hours gives 28,980 CZK gross. A higher rate does not always mean higher guaranteed income.
Night work in the Czech Republic carries a supplement of at least 10% of average earnings; work on Saturday and Sunday also carries a supplement of at least 10%. For overtime, the employee receives ordinary pay plus a supplement of at least 25%, unless the parties agree on compensatory time off.
A bonus of «up to 2,000 CZK» should be included only when it is clear what it is paid for.
The name Ústí nad Labem in the headline does not guarantee that the company is located in the city centre. The workplace may be on the outskirts, in an industrial zone, or in a nearby town in the Ústí nad Labem Region.
Before applying, request:
the full address;
the name or number of the stop;
the pick-up point for the company bus;
the timetable for each shift;
the route from the stop to the gate;
the coordinator's contact details;
a backup route.
Check the route for the actual shift time. An option available during the day may not operate at 5:00 or after 22:00.
Example. During the day, the journey takes 30 minutes, but the first service on the final section arrives after the morning shift begins. A company bus, different accommodation, or a different schedule is required.
Assess not only the rate but also the total amount of time the working day will take, including travel. An offer with a slightly lower rate but a direct route may leave more free time than a vacancy requiring two transfers.
An employment agreement in the Czech Republic must be in writing, and the employee should receive their own copy before starting work.
Compare the agreement with the vacancy:
the employer's name;
the type of work;
the workplace;
the start date;
the gross or net rate;
working time;
the probationary period;
agreed deductions.
If the work is performed at the premises of an agency client, clarify who the employer is, who pays the salary, and to whom documents or requests should be submitted.
Risk situation. Before the first shift, the candidate is informed of a different address, operation, or rate. Do not start under the new conditions until they have been confirmed in writing. Do not hand over the original passport to an unauthorised person or pay solely for a promise of work.
Compare offers using the same criteria:
the specific operation;
working posture and repeated movements;
temperature, noise, and protective equipment;
maximum weight;
the target and training;
the schedule and guaranteed hours;
the gross or net rate;
guaranteed supplements;
the address and transport;
the agreement type and employer.
If any information has not been confirmed in writing, do not include it in the comparison.
Example. Vacancy A: 174 CZK gross, 160 guaranteed hours, a noisy work area, and two transfers. Vacancy B: 165 CZK gross, 180 hours, clearly described protective equipment, and a direct company bus. Assess guaranteed income, working conditions, travel, and the predictability of the offer rather than one rate figure.
Questions about work for Ukrainians, accommodation, work without language skills, specific candidate categories, occupations, or individual employers are covered in separate materials. This page focuses specifically on choosing work in Ústí nad Labem.
The selection depends on which employers are currently hiring. Before applying, look beyond the job title and check the duties, work schedule, physical workload, workplace address, and contract terms. Two vacancies with the same title may differ significantly in work pace and actual pay.
Such positions are available, especially in warehousing, manufacturing, packing, and general support roles. However, they may require willingness to work shifts, physical stamina, or the ability to use a scanner. Ask how the training is organized, how long it lasts, and what pay rate applies during the training period.
Ask for the guaranteed pay rate and the minimum number of working hours. Add only confirmed bonuses or allowances, then subtract the cost of accommodation, transportation, and any other deductions. The maximum amount shown in a job advertisement is not guaranteed pay unless the employer has clearly explained the conditions required to receive it.
Find out the exact start and finish time for each shift, the number of working days, the length of breaks, and how new schedules are communicated. Also check transportation options for early and late shifts. A long commute can significantly increase the actual length of your working day.
Ask for the exact address, recent photos, the full cost, the number of people sharing the room, and information about the security deposit. Check whether utility bills are included and how long the commute to work takes. A listing that says “accommodation provided” does not necessarily mean the accommodation is free.
Before buying your ticket, obtain written confirmation of the job title, duties, workplace address, contract type, pay rate, guaranteed working hours, work schedule, accommodation, transportation, and all deductions. Also save the contact details of the coordinator who will be responsible for your arrival and your first working day.
