Work in Slovakia for men is a job in production, warehouses, logistics, construction and maintenance, where the employer has opened a recruitment for men. The job title does not determine the complexity: one operator vacancy may involve controlling parts, another - moving containers, working with tools and regular physical exertion.
This page helps men assess the responsibilities, workload, schedule and requirements of a specific vacancy. The general rules of minimum wage, documents, contracts and working hours are explained on the main page jobs in Slovakia and are not repeated here.
Information checked on August 19, 2026. The terms of a specific vacancy may change before the date of arrival, so the rate, schedule, address and accommodation must be confirmed in writing.
Vacancies for men may include the following areas:
This list does not mean that every offer is open only to men. The employer indicates the criteria in accordance with the actual conditions and requirements of the vacancy. Use the current vacancy listing rather than assumptions about “men’s work”. For some positions, employers recruit both men and women, and couples.
The content of the shift is of the greatest importance. For example, "warehouse work" can mean scanning goods weighing up to several kilograms or manually moving heavy containers. Without the specified weight, frequency of lifting and means of mechanization, these vacancies cannot be considered the same.
Check the exact name of the employer, address, list of operations and candidate criteria in the WORKIUM card. If the description contains only “auxiliary work”, ask to decipher what exactly the employee does during the shift.
Instead of the general question “is the work hard or easy?” find out specific indicators:
Conventional example: lifting 15 kg once and moving 15 kg every few minutes is a different load. A number without frequency does not help assess whether the candidate will withstand an eight-hour or longer shift.
If there are problems with the back, joints, pressure or vision, do not hide the restrictions until the medical examination. Ask for a video of the workplace and describe to the recruiter what movements or weights the doctor does not recommend. This is more accurate than accepting a vacancy and finding out upon arrival that the main operation cannot be performed.
A vacancy may not be suitable for a candidate if it involves constant lifting of weights, night shifts or work in noise, and the candidate has relevant medical restrictions. It is better to identify such a mismatch before departure, rather than during the first shift.
Overalls and protective equipment depend on the risks of the workplace. Before starting work, clarify who provides shoes, gloves, glasses, hearing protection and work uniforms, whether their cost is deducted from the salary and when the briefing is conducted.
Manufacturing and logistics companies may operate day, two-shift, three-shift or continuous schedules. The inscription “8–12 hours” itself does not indicate how many shifts there will be per week and how day and night alternate.
Ask for a calendar for at least one full cycle. It should include:
In Slovakia, a normal week, depending on the regime, is 37.5–40 hours, and the average time including overtime should not exceed 48 hours per week. These limits do not prove that the candidate will receive 48 hours: the guaranteed fund should be specified separately.
Practical risk - the night shift will start or end when public transport is not running. Check the schedule along with the road: the same address may be convenient at 14:00 and inaccessible at 05:30.
There is no need to repeat all the rules of remuneration in Slovakia here. Three numbers are important for choosing a male vacancy:
Conditional calculation: €6.80 gross × 168 hours = €1,142.40 gross before bonuses, taxes and contributions. If the heading indicates €1,450, the difference of €307.60 should be explained: night hours, overtime, weekends or a bonus for fulfilled conditions.
Do not add a bonus “before” to the guaranteed income until the criteria are known. The attendance bonus can be lost due to lateness or absence; the production bonus - depends on the norm; lump sum payment — accrued only after a certain number of working days.
Compare vacancies after the same deductions. A higher rate may give a smaller amount after housing and transportation, if in another offer these costs are lower. Calculate income according to your schedule, and not according to the maximum amount from advertising.
A vacancy "without experience" means that the employer is ready to teach a specific operation, but does not cancel the requirements for attentiveness, pace and safety. Before arriving, find out:
The phrase “they will teach everyone” is not enough. If the work is related to equipment, tools or a forklift, the employer must explain the admission procedure. A certificate from another country does not always automatically give the right to perform a regulated operation in Slovakia.
For a welder, electrician, driver or mechanic, confirmation of qualifications may be required. Send the documents before departure and ask for a written answer whether the specific employer accepts them and whether additional training is required.
Some positions are available without Slovak, if there is a Ukrainian- or Russian-speaking coordinator. But when working with equipment, it is critical to understand safety commands. Ask in what language emergency signals, instructions and daily tasks are given.
Housing is considered here only as a condition of a specific male vacancy. A detailed page about a shared accommodation job should explain the types of accommodation, deposits and rules for moving in separately.
Before choosing a job, check:
If the employer says "transportation is provided", find out the price and schedule. Transport may only run before the main shift starts, and during overtime the employee sometimes needs another way to return. This should be checked before agreeing to additional hours.
A rough budget: €1,000 net minus €250 for housing and €60 for transportation leaves €690 for food and personal expenses. These numbers do not describe the Slovak market; they show a formula by which you need to compare the real conditions of the two cards.
Before buying a ticket, collect in one message or document:
Compare this data with the contract. If the employer or agent cannot confirm the base rate, hours and location of work in writing, do not plan on earning income based on a verbal promise.
Be wary if they ask for a transfer to a private card without a contract, invoice and return policy for “booking a job”. Also, do not buy a ticket until you have the start date, address and contact information of the person who will meet or coordinate the check-in.

Yes, if the vacancy includes training. Check how long it lasts, whether it is paid, the language used for instruction, and when performance targets begin to be assessed. When comparing jobs abroad for Ukrainians, confirm separately whether training is provided. Confirm all important terms for the specific vacancy before buying tickets.
It depends on the position. For some jobs, support from a coordinator is enough, but workers must understand safety rules and work instructions. Confirm in advance which language is used for safety training and daily task briefings.
Ask for the maximum weight, lifting frequency, working posture, temperature, pace, and available handling aids. If possible, watch a video of the work process. Confirm all important terms for the specific vacancy before buying tickets.
No, if it depends on night shifts, overtime, or bonuses. Treat only the pay rate and hours confirmed in writing as guaranteed. Ask for a calculation based on the specific schedule and a written list of all deductions.
